Google's design changes might soon end all lawsuits 03/07/2017 by Tom Hirche
German courts have to deal with a variety of lawsuits that involve the German ancillary copyright for press publishers. But Google's design changes might bringt a sudden end.
On its blog, the company has announced several changes to the desing of Google News. The new UI is said to "make news more accessible and easier to navigate". What immediatly strikes the viewers attention is what cannot be seen anymore: Google obviously decided to remove the snippets. Although not explicitly said, it can be assumed that the ongoing legal battles and the possible introduction of a link tax on European level played a major role in this decision.
